Follow our progress and join the team building Auto-Astra

Current Status: Vertical Slice

We are actively building a vertical slice that demonstrates the core pillars of Auto-Astra: the voxel ship editor and the automation system powered by Lua scripting and visual scripts. This slice will showcase the full loop of designing a ship block by block, wiring up its systems, and watching it come to life through player-written code.

The vertical slice is our proving ground - once complete, it will serve as both a development milestone and a demonstration of what Auto-Astra will become at scale.

From Hobby to Studio

Auto-Astra started as a passion project - a hobby game born from our love of space sandboxes, voxel engineering, and automation games. As the project has grown in scope and ambition, we are now transitioning it into something more serious: a proper indie game with a dedicated team.

We believe in building something great together. All team members participate in a revenue share model, where compensation is based on the amount of work assigned and completed. This means every contributor has a direct stake in the success of the game.

Open Positions

We are growing the team and looking for talented people who share our passion for building a unique space game. All positions are remote with flexible hours and compensated through revenue share.

VFX Artist

Actively Hiring

We need someone to bring Auto-Astra's universe to life with stunning visual effects. Think thruster trails, weapon impacts, explosions, shield effects, warp jumps, and environmental particles. You will work closely with the engine team to create effects that are both beautiful and performant.

3D Voxel Artist

Actively Hiring

We need someone with a strong eye for 3D design to work on voxel assets, shaders, and materials. You will define the visual identity of Auto-Astra's ships and structures - creating compelling materials, lighting setups, and surface detail that make our voxel world feel rich and immersive.

Considering

We are thinking about bringing on someone to design ships and stations using the voxel engine we developed. This is a creative role focused on crafting visually striking and functionally interesting vessels - from nimble fighters to massive capital ships and orbital stations that players will encounter and aspire to build.
